A Better Health App

Support

The app is in private testing. If something is wrong, saying so is useful — it is a small project and every report gets read by a person.

Signing in

There is no password. You sign in with a passkey, using Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. If the passkey prompt does not appear, check you are signed in to iCloud and that iCloud Keychain is on — that is what stores it.

New phone? Passkeys sync through iCloud Keychain, so it should already be there. If it isn’t, ask for a new invite rather than trying to recover the old one; there is no password reset because there is no password.

“Waiting for approval” means your account exists but has not been given a database yet. Nothing is stored against it and it can’t see anything. It becomes usable when it is approved — there is nothing you need to do.

Apple Health

Connect it in Settings → What you track. The app reads sleep, heart rate, HRV, steps and workouts if you allow them, and writes nothing back.

Nothing appearing? Two common reasons. Permission may have been granted for some categories and not others — iOS asks per category, so check the Health app under Sources. Or your sleep source may be one that records very little: some wearables write only a nightly total.

No wearable at all? That is a supported way to use the app, not a broken one. Food, symptoms, medication, water and mood all work without any device. Anything that genuinely needs a wearable says so rather than showing a blank.

Logging food

One photo does both. Point it at the packet and it reads the barcode and the label together. If the barcode is known, it fills in immediately.

A meal with no numbers yet is not lost or broken — it is waiting to be researched, and the entry says so. The nutrition fills in afterwards and the entry updates.

Ate less than you logged? Open the entry and tap Edit. You can change what it was, how much, and when. Changing the amount sends it back to be worked out again, because the old figures no longer describe it.

Unknown product? Photograph the back and it can be added to the shared database, so the next person’s scan finds it. Only what is printed on the packet is shared — never when or whether you ate it.

Getting your data out

Settings → All your data shows everything held about you and exports the lot as one file. You do not need to ask anybody, and there is no limit on how often.

Deleting your account

Also in Settings. It destroys the database your data lived in, permanently. Export first — once it is gone there is no copy to restore from, which is the point.

Reporting something wrong

The most useful report names the screen, the figure, and what you expected instead — “the activity tile said 58 minutes and I hadn’t moved” is worth more than “the numbers look wrong”. Screenshots help a lot.
